CO₂laser welding (carbon dioxide laser welding)

Compared with solid-state lasers, CO₂offers a higherconversion efficiencyand is capable of high-power continuous oscillation (CW, or continuous wave). The excitation source is a discharge-type source with wavelengths of 10.6 μm and 9.4 μm. Wavelengths of 10.6 μm are used for welding. Gas laser welding is used in a wide range of fields due to the ability to weld not only metal but also resin.
